Dress Code

All students K-8 at St. Kieran School are required to wear the school uniform as designated by the principal and enforced by the teachers and staff. All students are required to wear standard uniform type pants either khaki or navy blue. No drawstrings, flared bottoms, tech/toggle pants, cargo pants, rivets, vinyl, leather-like pants, stretch pants, windbreaker pants, corduroy, denim or denim–like pants are allowed. Pants must fit properly and are worn at the waist. Leather belts either black or brown must be worn. Metallic belts, cloth belts or decorative belts are not permitted. Socks are required everyday white, black, navy are recommended.

The St. Kieran uniform will be as follows:

All K-8 Students:

• Students may wear navy blue or khaki pants with flat or pleated front.
• A belt must be worn at all times.
• Navy blue or khaki shorts or Capri pants with flat or pleated front may be worn from the first day of school through September 30^th and then from May 1^st until the last day of school.
• Students must wear white, navy, or hunter green polo shirts (long or short sleeve). Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
• An optional blue cardigan sweater, a PTN school sweatshirt (non-hooded), or school issued sweatshirt may also be purchased to wear during cold weather. Long sleeve, hunter green, navy or white shirts may be worn under the school uniform polo, during cold weather.
• Students may only wear a short sleeved white, or matching colored undershirt under the school uniform shirt. Contrasting colored undershirts or undershirts with logos are not acceptable.
• Socks must be white, navy, hunter green, brown or black. All socks must be visible above the shoe line.
• Gym shoes may be worn with the regular school uniform. We ask that the gym shoe be white or black with limited ornaments. Hard shoes must be black or brown (heel may not be higher than two inches) Boots of any kind are not to be worn during the school day.
• Hooded sweatshirts are not to be worn in school
• Students are not to wear other school logos.

Girls:

K-8 may wear jumpers, skirts, or skorts in the following colors only: khaki, navy blue, or green plaid. Socks or tights in white, navy blue, or hunter green are to be worn with skirts, skorts or jumpers. Only one set of earrings is permitted. Long dangling earrings are not permitted.

For health and safety reasons, students cannot wear opened-toed shoes, sandals, flip- flops, or other backless footwear. Moccasins are not permitted

Please Note: If a student is out of uniform or has 3 uniform infractions in a quarter, the student will not be able to participate in the next scheduled out of uniform day. If a student dresses improperly s/he will be required to rent a clean used gym uniform and change at the school. There will be no calls made home for proper attire. There will be a rental fee of $1.00 for belts or for students who must change shoes, pants, shirts, skirts.
